Abbas Ibn Firnas

Abbas Ibn Firnas   Abbas Ibn Firnas is a Muslim inventor who was born in 810 and died in 887. He lived during the Golden age. Firnas lived in the Andalusia that considered in our modern days Spain in a state called Cordoba. He lived during the Umayyad Caliphate.  He is a physician, engineer, a musician, scholar, astronomy and an Arabic poet. Abbas Ibn Firnass has many inventions. He known as the father of flying, because he was the first man on earth who filed. He also developed in astronomy. In 875 he used a fundamental glider launched from the Mount of the Bride (Jabal al-‘arus) in the Rusafa area to fly. Ibn Firnas designed the first water clock that is called AL-Maqata. He also designed the manufacturing colorless glass. He also designed a planispheres. In addition, he designed a chain of rings that is used to simulate the motion of the planets and stars. He created a cutting rock to for cutting the crystals in Spain, instead of the sending the crystals to be cut in Egypt. In Abbas Ibn Firnas’s house, he created a room in which witnessed stars, clouds, thunder, and lightning, which were produced by mechanisms located in his basement workroom, he invented a rudimentary metronome. He was able to create a set of wings; this made him able to fly long distance. He was able to create these set of wings by observing the birds. He also was able to create not just the wings from the birds. He also was able to create the first biro ink in the whole world.
